Forehand smash elbow not extended
When the shoulder–elbow–wrist angle at contact falls below about 150°, Badmi flags that the elbow stays too bent and the arm is not extended enough. The metric needs a clear side-view pose; front or heavily foreshortened views may suppress it.

“Elbow not extended” means the hitting arm is still clearly bent at contact. Badmi measures a three-point angle rather than guessing from a still look.
How the system decides
- Metric code: elbow_angle.
- Issue code: elbow_not_extended.
- Trigger: elbow angle below about 150°.
- Detail: elbow stays too bent at contact; the arm is not extended enough.
Practice focus
- Reach through the contact instead of collapsing the elbow early.
- Review the contact frame in slow motion and check shoulder–elbow–wrist alignment.
- If contact height is also low, raise contact first, then consolidate extension.
